Konnichiwa!

 
Konnichiwa or Good Afternoon!  And that makes it time for a new challenge at Twisted Tuesday.  The theme is everyone's favorite "Anything Goes".  THE TWIST ~ Show us what you've been working on! Now an annoucement.

Twisted Tuesday will start bi-weekly challenges starting today.  So, this challenge will end February 10th at 9pm central.

For my DT card I used La La Land Crafts Kimono Marci.  I paper pieced her kimono with some of the same paper that I used on the die cut fan.

Let It Snow!

 
There's a challenge going on over at Stamping With The Dragon.  The theme this time is In The Winter Garden.  And the sponsor is Rick St Dennis.  Here is a little bit about him.

Designer of over 100 theatrical productions, Rick St. Dennis (Donald McAfee) is also the author of 4 books on decorative painting and contributor to at least a dozen national magazines on crafts and art.  He is one of a handful of designers to have designed TWO productions of AIDA, Verdi's massive Egyptian opera spectacle.  Currently living in the quiet beach community of Seal Beach, California, he writes restaurant reviews and theater reviews between assignments for web designs, logos and creating art for local shows.  St. Dennis has appeared on such TV shows as Home Matters with Susan Powell, Aileen's Crafts and others.  He was crafts editor for Country Folk Art Magazine and sold his artwork nationally through galleries and shows.  Among numerous awards he won a presidential commendation in 1976 for his contributions to the bicentennial year including the design of the west coast premier of William Grant Still's opera BAYOU LEGEND.

I have used one of his digital stamps for my card.  This is Isabella Making Snow Friends.  I made another tent card using SU cardstock and the designer paper is Cosmo Cricket.  I also used a sparkly white glitter paper from my stash for the snow and snowflakes.  My sentiment is from Crafter's Companion.  The die cuts that I used are Spellbinder Circle and Scallop Circle; Memory Box Frostyville and Bianca Snowflake.  I used SU Oval and Scallop Oval punches and Martha Stewart Snowflake punch.  I added Stickles Crystal glitter glue to the fur on her snowsuit to add some sparkle.  And the gems are from my stash.  Here is another view.

Monochromatic Birthday Card


It's time for another challenge at Twisted Tuesday Challenges.  Today's challenge is "Off The Beaten Path".   Somewhere on your creation you need to "off stamp". You know like a flower stamped off to the side of your card stock and only seeing part of it on your creation?!  THE TWIST ~ the "Beaten" part of our challenge....crumple up something, I'm not talking distressed edges, I'm talking about something really crumpled and/or even torn. Just beat it up whatever you chose to crumple.

Little Best Friends


I am ready for some warm weather. Can you tell? I have now done a summery card in hopes that it will make me warm up. Lol.  This is a cute little image called Little Best Friends by Elizabeth Bell. Aren't they the sweetest little BFF's?   Elizabeth Bell is the sponsor for the first challenge of 2013 at Paper Crafting Journey.  The theme for this challenge is Anything Goes!  Easy Peasy, right?  The winner will get two Elizabeth Bell digi stamps.

Puppy Love


I hope you all have had a fantastic weekend.  I pretty much stayed in and made some cards.  It was too cold to get out and do much.  I know so many of you guys have much colder weather than I do since I live in Texas.  But, I'm just not used to it and when it does get cold I stay in where it is warm.

So, I have one of the cards I made to show you today.  This little cutie is Puppy Love by Conie Fong for Sweet Pea Stamps.  I thought she was such a cute little fairy and a very happy cute puppy too.

Fairy Queen

Happy New Year


Happy New Year!  Well 2013 is here.  I hope to get in a lot of crafting again this year.  How about you?  Today, we have a brand new challenge from Twisted Tuesday.  This is the first challenge for the year and it is a Sketch Challenge.  THE TWIST ~ What's a party without confetti or streamers? Use something on your creation that reminds you of one (or both) of these party favorites.  Here is the sketch.

I used an older digi from Saturated Canary, but I thought she looked like she could be celebrating the new year.  This is Ellie's Birthday.  And even though it is a birthday stamp, I thought it worked pretty good for New Year's too.
